This would be very helpful. I have SQL Server databases that I would like to export to SSCE, but there are certain tables (such as all the ASPNET Member Provider tables) that I don't want included.

Having the ability to select the tables I want to script would be a great asset.

Fixed on changeset 74147

Hi Eric:
I assume by your "Fixed" comment that this will be included in the next release? If so, much thanks! This will be a huge help!

ErikEJ wrote Jan 13, 2012 at 6:06 AM

Yes, and it is in the latest source code now

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 13, 2012 at 11:14 AM

Eric:
Fantastic. Let me know once the new version is ready for download! Thanks a million.

I can do a private beta build for you if interested - let me know, and I can attach to this work item

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 13, 2012 at 2:29 PM

Hi Eric:
That would be great. I will be glad to test it out if you wish!
Kevin

I have attached a test build

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 16, 2012 at 7:43 PM

Hi Eric:
This looks great! Just one small suggestion: can you add a "Clear All" and "Select All" button? Sometimes I many want to script only 1-2 tables out of 100 tables in the listing. Right now I have to manually uncheck the 98 tables I don't want to script.

 Just a suggestion...
Kevin

Great suggestion - I have added a checkbox to clear/select all

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 17, 2012 at 2:52 PM

Eric:
Fantastic; let me know when you have an updated build ready and I will test it for you.

ErikEJ wrote Jan 19, 2012 at 9:36 AM

I have updated the test build with Select all/Clear All CheckBox

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 19, 2012 at 11:03 AM

Hi Eric:
Got it; thanks. Will test it out today!

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 19, 2012 at 3:01 PM

Eric:
Is there supposed to be a caption on the Select All/Clear All checkbox at the top of the dialog box? I can't see one. Screen print attached.

ErikEJ wrote Jan 20, 2012 at 9:23 AM

No - do you think a caption is required?

ErikEJ wrote Jan 20, 2012 at 9:24 AM

And what should the caption be: "All Tables" ?

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 20, 2012 at 10:21 AM

Hi Eric:

I would use "Tables" to be consistent with what SQL Server Management Studio displays for the user when you are selecting/de-selecting all tables (when generating SQL Server scripts). Screen shot attached.

Thoughts?

ErikEJ wrote Jan 20, 2012 at 12:09 PM

I also see a "Select All" button on your screenshot !

MasterVBGuru wrote Jan 20, 2012 at 1:27 PM

Hi Eric:
I was referring to the caption on the checkbox above the listbox of tables. I would just call it "Tables" to be consistent with SSMS, since it acts as both a "Select All" and "Clear All", just like the one in my screen shot.

It's your call. Whatever you think is best.
Kevin

Hi Eric:
Will the toolbox be updated to support Visual Studio 2012?
Kevin

ErikEJ wrote Jun 6, 2012 at 12:20 PM

It already supports VS 2012 RC

MasterVBGuru wrote Jun 6, 2012 at 1:43 PM

Hi Eric:
Fantastic; I will give it a test drive under VS2012 RC1.

Hi Eric:
Can you tell me where I can download the SQL Server Compact 4.0 version of the ExportSQLCE.exe stand-alone utility?
Kevin

ErikEJ wrote Jun 9, 2012 at 9:11 AM

Sure, at http://exportsqlce.codeplex.com/releases/view/80551 - current filename is ExportSqlCe40.3.5.2.15.zip
