Hotkeys in editor

description

I saw that keyboard shortcuts in editor were removed after the 2.4 version but why?
I would appreciate very much if I could run the script without take off the hands of the keyboard to point the mouse pointer and clicking, as well as I do in Sql Server Management Studio, where I can just press F5 just after ending typing.

Is it really true that there's no hotkeys in editor? It would be a silly question, but it's something very practical and facilitates the work.
Thanks!

I had issues with F5 being captured by the Shell (Debug), but keyboard shortcuts would be great, feel free to contribute a patch.

I would like to do it, but I'm too newbie to know even where to start it lol

Could you use Ctrl+R instead of F5? I believe I saw VS using that combination at one point (when it still had a decent query editor).

A keystroke to run a query would be very handy indeed.

Hi Erik

I'd like to contribute this (in C#, I can translate well enough for this simple task).

How would I get started? I'm new to GIT in VS2013 and only recently published my first CodePlex project.

Thanks,

@Jeff Sounds great, for this small task, I suggest you simply just email me the changed file, and I will incoroporate it (and credit you, of course). The file you need to add to is: https://sqlcetoolbox.codeplex.com/SourceControl/latest#SqlCe35Toolbox/ToolWindows/SqlEditorControl.xaml.cs - if you look at older versions of this file, you will see that there is code for keyboard support included. I suggest Ctrl+R for Execute, and maybe include a tooltip for the button to indicate this.

I am planning to release version 4 in september sometime, and it would be great to have this feature included
